Call for Participation/Submission – Radical Manifestations | 13th Atmosphere Symposium

Radical Manifestations

The 13th annual Atmosphere symposium at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Manitoba, invites practitioners, academics, scholars, and students to track and explore RADICAL MANIFESTATIONS.

As we witness radical shifts in our daily routines and in our environment, Atmosphere 13 seeks to examine how such shifts can manifest in practice and pedagogy. What are the forms of manifestations of that radical shifts? What are the core/critical values and ideas embodied in those manifestations? How can we realign practice and/or pedagogy with such shifts? What are the forms of manifestations that reflect these realignments? How can the shifted practices reshape pedagogy? How can radical pedagogy affect forms of practice?

3. PhD Forum

Atmosphere 13 invites PhD students in the design disciplines to share and discuss their ongoing research. All works conducted at PhD, whether practice-based or research-based, are understood as radical by nature, and their manifestations, as ‘shifts’, will contribute to realigning the practice and pedagogy. We invite current students to share the various subjects, perspectives, methods, and resources that are being used and tested, and to reflect on their potential contributions, through this forum. The intention of this forum is also to foster a greater collaborative and communicative research community in design.
