The College of Architecture and Design at NJIT is pleased to announce that Maria Hurtado de Mendoza has been appointed Associate Professor of Architecture starting in September of 2013.  Professor Hurtado de Mendoza is a principal at estudio.entresitio, a Madrid-based practice that is invested in the material actualization of the architectural concept.  The practice has extensive building experience with an emphasis on public work that utilizes novel solutions to the functional and necessary without foregoing the creative or exploratory.

Ms. Hurtado de Mendoza has fourteen years of teaching experience at Madrid’s Polytechnic University ETSAM, where she also completed her architecture degree, and previous teaching experience in the United States at Cornell University.  She will be teaching fifth year, comprehensive design studio in the fall.
