The Arts & Humanities division at Bellevue College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time tenure track Interior Design department faculty member for Fall 2025.

The successful candidate should be prepared to teach students in contemporary studio practices, processes, and body of knowledge, and have experience teaching or directing others in professional practices, methodologies, skills, and content related to a variety of interior project types. The instructor will maintain current expertise in at least one area of interior design practice, and create an active learning, project-based curriculum for students in their assigned courses. Instruction will include industry standard technology and tools, interior building codes and systems, visual communication methods, design programming, project management, and various methods of design inquiry. Expertise in non-studio topic areas is desirable, including history, theory, contract and technical content, or digital design tools. Leadership and expertise in design sustainability is highly desirable. Candidates with NCIDQ, LEED, and other industry-specific credentials are strongly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate must reside in Washington State by the start of the position and demonstrate a strong commitment to in-person teaching, committee service, advising, and professional development activities. While there may be opportunities to teach online or hybrid courses, faculty are expected to maintain a significant presence on campus to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the college community.
