The School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Architectural Design. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor will be considered for candidates with an established record of accomplishments in research and teaching. Expected start date is August 16, 2025.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A professional and terminal degree in Architecture: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch Professional) with a Post-professional master, or a Master of Architecture (M.Arch Professional), or equivalent.
- Experience as a design studio instructor.
- Evidence of professional and/or academic design work.
Responsibilities:
The position carries equal responsibilities in research and teaching, with teaching obligations to include two design studios and one seminar/lecture course per year. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue an active research and/or design agenda and to contribute to the civic life of the School, University, and community through service and engagement. Paths to impact for this position could include traditional scholarly research, design recognition through display, construction, competition, or recognized community-partnered innovation.
