Social integration project: People on the edge of society

There is a section of the society who are living together in a special community separated from our everyday life. Almost 500 million people in the world suffer from some levels of mental injury. Among the history they are treated as less valuable people. Due to the fact that they have less social sensitivity and lower physical capacity, joining the community or and taking part of the labor habits are harder than for an average people. Another important aspect is, they need a whole-day supervisor to help them. Solving this complex problem, the governments created special homes mostly far away from the inhabited areas, but close to the nature, which generates gap between the real world. In my plan I would like to show a possible solution for the factual integration. First step: to find a place inside the cities or villages which has also natural connection. Second step: to realize the real needs of the mentally disabled people. The most important is the right and possibility to work, because they can feel themselves useful, therefore I created a workplace with shop to give chance to the townspeople to get to know and acknowledge, where we can meet each other without any frustration. Setting up a develop center is also really important! Third step: to create a place for retreat. Integration means being aware of differences, what we don’t want to hide. A private zone is truly significant, where mentally disabled people can live in privacy as every other people.
