Marywood University

The School of Architecture at Marywood University (MUSOA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. Successful candidates will have expertise in teaching innovative design studios and advanced architectural representation, including but not limited to animation, generative AI, and interactive digital environments. The School seeks collegial candidates committed to working within and across our deeply integrated professional programs of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Virtual Architecture, and Construction Management.

Founded by the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Marywood University educates students on a verdant, 115-acre campus in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The MUSOA inhabits a former gymnasium and natatorium as a laboratory for sustainable design and adaptive reuse. The School offers graduate and undergraduate programs in Architecture and Interior Architecture and new undergraduate programs in Construction Management and Virtual Architecture. Full-time faculty members are expected to embrace the University’s and School’s missions and core values in their teaching and service. Additionally, tenure-track faculty and professors of practice are expected to cultivate a productive scholarly agenda
or creative practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in architecture, construction management, interior architecture/design, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional and/or teaching experience
  • Professional certifications, registrations or licenses
  • Doctoral degree in a related area of expertise
  • Established scholarly, creative, or professional agenda and work
