The Department of Architecture at the University of Colorado Denver has an opening for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Teaching Professor level beginning August 2025.

This faculty member will participate in a broad range of teaching, research/creative work, and departmental activities, as well as provide service and administration to the Department of Architecture. This is a non-tenure position with the substantial focus of the position being on teaching and teaching related activities such as studio design coordination. Renewal of the contract is on an annual basis with a comprehensive evaluation of performance required every three years.

Job Responsibilities

Assistant Teaching Professor positions engage in teaching, scholarly/creative work, and service. The percentages allocated are 60% teaching, 20% scholarly/creative work, and 20% service. The expected teaching load for this position is six courses per academic year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in architecture or a related field (or international equivalent)
  • Evidence of ability and experience in teaching large lecture courses, seminars, and design studios
  • Demonstrated expertise and teaching in a field of study
  • Track record of conducting research or experience in practice

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience, and/or professional registration, and/or a record of professional practice in architecture.
