The Architecture Department at the University of Oregon (UO) is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Architectural Design, Structures, and Mass Timber to start September 2025 in Eugene, Oregon. The position is in the School of Architecture and Environment that is nationally recognized for its innovation and sustainability research. As the successful candidate, you will have experience or show evidence of capacity to effectively teach structures for architecture students and lead research in mass timber structures. You will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advances in sustainable materials, construction, and technology to produce eco-friendly, net zero, and low-impact buildings. You will develop a well-defined research and/or creative practice agenda using innovative technologies. You will have the opportunity to engage with award-winning research initiatives including the Tallwood Design Institute, a University of Oregon and Oregon State University partnership advancing mass timber in the built environment. Additionally, you will teach core structures courses, architectural design studios, and elective seminar courses related to your research area, as well as contribute service to the profession and school/university at large.
