The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for a full-time, tenured Professor and Head for the School of Architecture (SoA) with an 11-month academic/administrative appointment beginning summer of 2025. The College is seeking a collaborative and visionary leader who can promote excellence in teaching, research, and service within the SoA.
About the OSU School of Architecture
The programs in the SoA are NAAB and ABET accredited with a dedicated team of 19 professors, 3 staff and 2 advisors serving a student body of 523. This is a 34% increase in freshmen enrollment from 2023.
For 114 years, the program has been professionally educating architects and architectural engineers, combining a strong design and problem-solving curriculum with an emphasis on technology and building systems integration. The school’s state-of-the-art facilities support faculty and students in their educational endeavors and scholarly pursuits.
The SoA fosters a collegial atmosphere among the faculty, most notably through team-taught design studios. Collaborative and multi-disciplinary research and scholarship are valued and embraced through the school’s integration of accredited undergraduate programs in architecture and architectural engineering, as well as its role within CEAT.

Applicant Credentials
Successful applicants must possess an outstanding record of creative, scholarly, or professional achievement in Architecture or a closely related field on a national and international level. They must also demonstrate leadership in an academic, professional, or cultural organization related to Architecture, as well as teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Applicants must demonstrate ability and prior success in leadership, administrative, and financial management roles. In addition, they must articulate an approach for defining a vision for leading the school.
The applicant should have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and serve as a strong advocate fully supporting the mission of the SoA to prepare future architects and architectural engineers to make vital contributions to humanity through the creation of architecture. They will serve as a visible spokesperson for the SoA at a local, national, and international level.
The applicant must hold a terminal degree in Architecture or a closely related field, with professional licensure, or a PhD. They should possess the qualifications required for the rank of full professor at an accredited institution.
