UIA World Congress 2023 Copenhagen Science Track

Invitation to Join the Peer Review Committee

UIA World Congress 2023 Copenhagen Science Track

It is with great enthusiasm that we invite everyone from ACSA to join the Peer Review Committee for the Science Track of the UIA World Congress 2023 Copenhagen: Sustainable Futures – Leave No One Behind, July 2-6, 2023.

The agenda of the congress is ambitious. Together, we want to promote, discuss, create and showcase architecture as a vital tool to achieve the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In the Science Track, we ask how architectural knowledge, through research and practice, can challenge the way architecture is performed, designed and realized. We do this in six panels.

We wish to expand the possibility of a transdisciplinary knowledge exchange and include voices that are not commonly part of academic and professional discourse therefore we are asking for submissions in four formats: Research paper, Visual essay, Narrative essay, and Argumentative essay. We believe that diverse experiences and knowledge are essential to articulate the particular agency architecture holds to contribute to achieving the 17 SDGs.

As a Peer Review Committee member you can accept to review papers for one or more of the following:

Panel 1: Design for Climate Adaptation, chaired by Billie Faircloth and Maibritt Pedersen Zari

Panel 2: Design for Rethinking Resources, chaired by Carlo Ratti and Mette Ramsgaard Thomsen

Panel 3: Design for Resilient Communities, chaired by Anna Rubbo and Juan Du

Panel 4: Design for Health, chaired by Christian Benimana and Arif Hasan

Panel 5: Design for Inclusivity, chaired by Magda Mostafa and Ruth Baumeister

Panel 6: Design for Partnerships for Change, chaired by Sandi Hilal and Merve Bedir

The peer review process will be a double blind taking. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present at the UIA World Congress 2023 and accepted papers will be published by Springer. The peer review process runs from mid-October through mid-November 2022. Please note that you can still submit your own work.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Thank you in advance.
