Througha series of examples analyzed through a discussionof object-thing theory, including art work andcontemporary architecture, the paper argues thatthe intentional misuse of objects in Detroit may offera framework to consider discrete, site specific, andarchitectural-scale propositions that interface betweenurbanism and infrastructure.
